Not only is vintage and retro so hot right now it is actually one of the only links that we have to old times.
Nowadays we have our heads stuck in our phones, we download music and that lovely tactile element and tangible quality of owning our physical music is gone.
Vinyl, cassettes and even CD’S bring us back to a simpler time and connect us very authentically to our past.
One song can bring back 1000 memories and this is true of the crisp and calm nature of putting the ‘needle on the record’.
The sound is better and soothing to your ear.
The physical element of putting on music and creating an event really is cathartic for the soul.
It can become a past time and if you didnt grow up with records you can take up collecting them as a past time. Showing people your ‘record collection’ can be a status symbol for many and so many flea markets have excellent vinyl that you can buy – cheap as chips
The album covers are art in themselves and can be researched and there are millions of books about record covers and the rise of graphic design.
